nora® rubber floor coverings, thanks to their outstanding fire-resistant
properties, comply with the most important fire standards.
They meet the requirements of ASTM E-662 Specific Optical Density of Smoke Generated by Solid Materials and ASTM E-648 Critical Radiant Flux of Floor Covering Systems Using a Radiant Heat Energy Source. Special floor coverings are available that meet ASTM E-84 Class A requirements for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials. Many nora® rubber floor coverings meet the FRA (Federal Railway Administration) requirements regarding flammability, smoke and toxicity. The floorings do not contain any PVC or halogens. This means that in the event of fire, no hazardous hydrogen-chloride gases, toxic dioxins or furans are produced.
